1. What this place is for

The WOW Factor is a community of people trying to look after themselves a bit better. Some are doing well. Some aren’t. Most are somewhere in between on any given day.

Treat people the way you’d want to be treated on your worst week. That’s the whole thing. The rest is detail.

2. The rules

Be decent

Disagree, don’t attack. No abuse, no pile-ons, no sniping at someone who’s shared something honest.

No harassment

Don’t contact someone who’s asked you to stop. Don’t follow someone around the site. Don’t make anyone uncomfortable about their body, their beliefs or their circumstances.

No discrimination

Nothing based on race, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability, age or background. Not as a joke either.

Respect privacy

Don’t share someone else’s details, photos, messages or anything they’ve told you in the community. What’s shared here stays here.

Don’t sell at people

Members may promote their own business through a listing or an approved promotion. Don’t pitch in event chats, don’t spam the community, don’t message people with offers they didn’t ask for.

Don’t give health advice you’re not qualified to give

Sharing what worked for you is fine and it’s half the point. Telling someone what to do about their condition, their medication or their treatment is not. If someone’s struggling, point them at a professional.

Be honest

Don’t misrepresent your qualifications, your experience or what you’re selling.

Nothing illegal

No unlawful content, no sexual content, no threats, no incitement, no intellectual property theft.

3. If someone is struggling

Members will sometimes share that they’re not doing well. That’s allowed and it’s part of why this exists.

What to do:

  • Be kind. You don’t need the right words.
  • Don’t try to be their counsellor. You’re not and they need better than that.
  • Point them somewhere real. Lifeline 13 11 14. Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. 000 in an emergency.
  • If you think someone is in immediate danger, call 000. Don’t wait for us.
  • Then tell us at [email protected].

What we do: we are not a crisis service and we don’t monitor what members write. If something comes to our attention we’ll respond with care, but we can’t watch and we won’t pretend otherwise.

4. At in-person events

Everything above applies, plus:

  • The host is in charge. Do what they ask.
  • Look after yourself. Don’t do what you can’t do. Stop if it hurts.
  • Tell the host what they need to know about anything affecting your safe participation.
  • Consent matters. Don’t touch anyone without asking, including hands-on correction.
  • Don’t photograph anyone without asking.
  • The host can ask anyone to leave.

See also our Event Booking Terms.

5. Reporting something

Use the report button, or email [email protected].

  • Tell us what happened, where, and when. A screenshot helps.
  • We’ll acknowledge within 2 business days and tell you the outcome where we can — though we may not be able to say what action was taken against another member.

Reporting in good faith never counts against you. Repeatedly reporting people to harass them does.

If you’re in immediate danger, call 000 first.

6. What happens when we act

Depending on what’s happened, we may: remove content, give a warning, restrict an account, suspend hosting rights, suspend an account, or close it permanently.

  • Serious safety issues are acted on immediately, before any discussion.
  • Otherwise we’ll usually ask you about it first.
  • You can ask us to reconsider by emailing [email protected]. Someone else will look at it.
  • No refund where an account is closed for breaching these guidelines.

We don’t publish details of action taken against individual members.

7. Disputes between members

Try to sort it out directly first. Most things are a misunderstanding.

If that doesn’t work, email [email protected] with what happened and what you’d like to see.

What we can do: look at what’s on the platform, talk to both of you, remove content, remove a listing, restrict or remove an account.

What we can’t do: make anyone pay you money, decide who’s right about something that happened off the platform, or act as a court. We’re a platform, not an arbitrator.

For money disputes, see the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

8. Complaints about us

Email [email protected]. Tell us what happened and what you’d like done.

We’ll acknowledge within 2 business days and respond properly within 30 days.

  • About your privacy or your data — the Privacy Policy sets out how to escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
  • About a purchase — section 8 of the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
  • Anything else — email us and say you’re not satisfied. It gets looked at again.

9. Your content

What you post stays yours. You give us permission to display it on the platform.

  • Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to post — including photos of other people without their say-so.
  • We can remove content that breaches these guidelines. You can delete your own content any time.

10. These guidelines change

We’ll update this page and tell members when something significant changes.
